| Just read through the post, with ref to the roof lights I would wire these up as 2 sets of 2
I would do it that way as if you loose a feed or pop a fuse your not going to be up the green lane and not be able to see were your going its sods law that you will have a problem when you need them.
Also it means you have less draw on each circuit, to work out what you need its watts divided by volts will give you the amps then for good measure add 25% on this will cover spikes in the electrical circuit and other problems.
I have 2 sets of spots on the front of mine and set them up as 2 circuits, a quick order to mud stuff saw me get a off/on/on switch from them and it lets me put one set on or both sets one, need to change the bulbs but plan is to have the outer set as the first ones with normal bulbs in and then second set will be inners and have an uprated bulb in to give me more distance.
Plan is to do the same to the roof lights when they go on.

| My roof lights are on an ON/OFF switch to come on with the grill full beam (or not).
I can either have all 8 on full beam or just the lower 4.
I think aux lighting is an MOT so I wanted to turn them off independantly.

| No worries mate having been there done that got stuck in some dark lanes I learnt the lesson lol just glad it wasnt on my vehicle at the time but a mates landy.
I was thinking the same as the MOT I can keep them off if not needed and if I do have a bulb out or something daft then he cant fail them.
The setup I am hoping to have in the end with the 4 sets is to have 3 switches first switch will decided if the lighs are off / on with high beam / on and then switch 2 will be for the 2 pairs on the grille and switch 3 for the 2 pairs on the roof
With this setup I can choose a how many lights and were are on and how they come on for back lane driving I can have them on the highbeam side and for off roading I can over ride them and keep my dip beam so I don't get a void of light in front of the truck

| Paul I am sure this is a daft question but what would happen if you put all the lights on at once so High beam and 8 spots?? Would anything else need upgrading ..alternator etc?? | |

| As long as you have a decent size battery in there and the engine is running it should be able to keep up with everything, what size alternator do you have on Gerty at the moment it might be worth looking into an upgraded one if your planning on running a fair bit of kit most of the time. Them pesky amps can sure build up if your not carefull. | |

| I have all my auxilary lights independantly switched in pairs. Each supply individually fused and relay controlled, and all switching circuits fused for added safety. The only ones that can come on with main beam are the main spots on the front bumper - thay can also be completely switched off altogether. Anything outside of the regulatory distances from the ground or edge of the vehicle must not be able to be operated with the standard lighting switches for MOT purposes. For the lighting and all the auxilary power supplies etc... I have a custom built fuse and relay board on the passenger A pillar, which is fed direct from the battery via a 100A fuse (mounted right next to the +ve terminal). Also has numerous earths, to make sure non go astray. Seen too many fires caused by poor lighting wiring and by lack of fused protection in the event of a short curcuit. | |
