- Steve, there's an interesting thread one of the forums I'm on about KL71's.
Something I'd not even thought of. They're a directional tyre so which side do you plan on getting a flat on mate? lol
If you get a flat on the other side your tyre will be back to front.
Not sure if it will make a great deal of difference on the road unless it's very wet.
Ahmed! I've spoken to a few people about this, including Kuhmo. They say that you can use it in the wrong direction as an emergency spare if you keep the speed down. I'm hoping not to get a flat at all!!! The directional bit is all about water dispersal. Just won't pass an MOT if it's on the wrong way round. There are lots of varying opinions on these tyres, some say they are the mutts nuts others slag them off, so I'll have to form my own opinion. I'm only had them on a couple of months and they seem OK. Not as noisy on-road as BFG's, but I haven't had a real chance to try them off-road since I fitted them.

| Chugaboom is wearing a natty set of 235/85 KL71's.
I've found them well behaved on road and the few times I've been playing they've been at least as good as the Insa Turbo sahara's I used to have on.
I bought them from Southam Tyres and they had photocopies of a tyre test from one of the magazines and the KL71'scame second only to the amazing BFG muds.
I know some will have they're own opinions but a formal comparative test has to mean something.,... dunnit?!

| Wrangler MTRs, a fridge and a Sankey loaded with cider. Anything else is dead weight. Well, I suppose I might take a bag of birch bark, my trusty fire steel and my Frosts Clipper as well | |

| Bush Cables arrived from Kurt Saturday What a nice guy. Delivered FOC at a reduced price for H4H. Hoping to fit them Thursday or Friday along with about a gazillion other jobs. May have to throw a "Sickie" for a couple of days. | |

| Looking to see if I can fit them to the rain gutter or roof rails. That way I don't need the roofrack on when I'm laning and off-roading after the Rally.
Possibly get some flat-fit plates and fix them to the roof.

| Probably going to fit lights to the roofrack. I'm sure I'll be able to work something out . I could get some stainless steel deck fittings from the boat chandlers. They will just self tap into the roof. | |

| Cool. I did wonder about issues you may have had if you'd mounted the D rings on the roof. If you'd banged them against a branch they could've wrecked the windscreen frame. | |
