| Gill and I didnt really tally up all the fuel and incidentals for last year,
The way to do it would be plan on 3000 miles and budget for that.
1995 Discovery 300 TDI
Fuel - 600 quid ish
Scoff and Booze - 300 quid ish
Not surprised SKIBUM hasn't totted up his fuel costs, he had a naturally aspirated 300 DI for 2000 out of those 3000 miles....
Ref SKIBUMs post, it would be great if he had a normal face....

| Haha,
Ok so if I budget for £1k fuel and £500 for food, I shouldn't be that far off!
After the rally we're going up to Prague before coming back down to Paris, so an extra few hundred miles to add on!
Thanks everyone!
Not long now! And still so much to do!

3423 miles (truck speedo) 700 litres (154 gallons) £760.75 in fuel (UK;£261.52, Europe;£499.23) 22 mpg Overall average cost per litre;£1.12
Satnav: 3366 miles Moving ave;39.9 mph Moving time; 84.23 hrs This year I'm budgeting on £1000 for fuel (last year I reckoned on £800). 3500 miles @ 22 mpg and £1.25 per litre average = £900 Fuel prices in Europe >>>Here<<<Reckon we spent around £500 on food etc... but we did eat out most of the second half of the rally. (4 of us - 2 adults, 2 kids).

I done (from start line to home via paris) £676.56 in fuel,
As a guess on food it was around £10 a day on food and then booze so about £300ish, then misc stuff like presents and cooking gas i would say about £200

| I had an eco tune on the landy which meant i was getting nearly 38mpg,
I have however just found another reciept for £78 fuel littering thge door pocket! haha!
Now now Tony! Thats £200 of food, being what was spent and put in the back of the truck which i could have survived on! just because we ate out a few times, if being honest on what we actually spent rather than what we could have lived on its probably closer to £400!
At the end of the day i was only feeding one mouth, as the co driver could never be found at dinner times! That would mean being socialble!

| As we start from mid way down in France, and have to get back again going East to West (that's against the wind so no advantage there) we are working on £1500 for fuel. Food, well you have to feed yourself at home, so no real difference accept another adult mouth to feed and fill with beer in our case. Oh SWMBO just told me, we are eating out as she refuses to cook all the time Doubles budget now | |

| Dan, we budget £1,000 for fuel, but we are running a 200TDi Disco, as you can never depend on the exchange rate and the taxation in the various countries we are due to travel through. In 2010 and 2012 Luxemburg seemed to be the favorite place to fill up on fuel, no idea why £10-£15 per day should cover you for food, if you are eating out all the time. We planned all the meals before hand and took them with us. This meant we where not dependent of finding places to eat each leg of the route. | |

| In 2011, I entered in a 3.9 V8 Discovery & used about £1200 on fuel (very poorly engine!! haha), about £300 on food, drink & other expenses. Last year I was in a 300Tdi Discovery, lifted, over-size tyres, roof rack etc & used around £650 on fuel & around £300 on food, drink & other expenses. This year I'm in a Td5 Discovery which is actually better on fuel than the 300Tdi, so I am reckoning about the same this year - hopefully Simon | |
