| The Martians will be looking forward to a close encounter with Unit 16 from 14th June ; and as tradition demands, provide suitable care, guidance, support, understanding to you and your crew at all times | |

| Well, the list of jobs is getting there. Mostly "Nice to have" stuff, not essentials, the truck is basically ready to go as it stands, but, as always, there's things that we'd like to do.
Rear tub under floor storage for aux batts and spares (now the spaere wheel is rear bumper mounted a lot of space is liberated underneath. Remount rear roof tent up on bars to get it up, off the canopy. Second roof tent to fit - reinforce roof and roof rack mounts first. Revamp sat nav and other dash wiring. Fit rear winch bumper. Fit better front seats - got some old Ford Recarros that should do the job and give better side support. Redo front, rear and side spot/flood lights.
There's bound to be more and it'll all have to be prioritised - tents come first.

| OK, so the overheating continued beyond the Mac and into Easter, with a similar problem happening to her truck too - but this time cracked head. So the head was changed and all is now good again in the silver truck, but, with the rally looming all too quickly, what to do with mine? Well, the quick answer, swap engines and put the good one in the rally truck: Today's work, two engines out, ready for the swap over. Getting ready for the first one Out it comes Ready for it's next placement Ready for the next one Next On it's way out And ..... rest ..... Tomorrow .......... clean them both up, swap a few bits over from one to the other and put my old engine into her truck and get it back on the road. | |
