Try a Google search for a programme called Fast File Undelete. It doesn't get them all, but it does a pretty good job of recovering deleted files.

| A good tip is to intall any undelete programs onto a different sector of your hard drive - otherwise the very act of installation may overwrite some of the data you're looking to save. | |

| Sorted. Disk Digger to the rescue, guess it's been about 99% effective.
Teach me rationalise a pc, a laptop and a back up drive - I knew I should have done a fresh back up of each before embarking on a tidy up !!!!!

| I've got so many back up drives and not one of them mirrors the content of another. So far have managed to recover data each time I've lost a drive with a bit of geektech but really REALLY need to get my act together...... | |
