| Just out of interest really, what tyres are everyone planning on running for the event? I'm especially interested in type and size that the fellow defenders are running as well? Thats my Sunday evening curiosity satisfied Oli | |

| I'm on 265/75/16 BFG muds.
I had them on anyway so I'm just getting 2 more spares. | |

| I'm on 35" Hankook RT03's. Can't rate them highly enough, particularly off road. They are also super quiet on the tarmac. The new BFG muds do look the dogs tho. | |

| Cheers Guys, I'd like either 7.50R16, 8.25R16 or 9.00R16 Michelin XZLs ideally, just not sure if the later two will fit?

| 235/85R16 Khumo KL71's for me... a mud tyre... but what the hell... they'd be on there anyway!
Planning to get another spare wheel & tyre cuz they're directional... if the taxman will leave me alone!

| My 110 is on 750x16 XZLs I love them. 825 and 900 will fit but you will lose even more steering lock, not the sort of thing you want to do on a defender as they are bad enough on 750s as standard. | |

| Cheers Guys. I prefer the XZLs like you Paul when I've driven them. Looks like 750R16 it is then Oli | |

| On my 90,I've got oe General grabbers. I really would like some BFG 'AT's" but at the moment can't really justify the expense as there is nothing wrong with the ones I've got. However commonsense was never my strong point and I just know that wish will overcome sense and I will end up buying a set. Anybody want to buy 5 GG's 235/85/R16 , 4 in excellent condition and 1 unused? | |

| They're alright tyres, but not amazing. BFG AT are good, although GG AT2 are also good for less money. The best of the bunch in the AT world at the moment though are toyo's. Cheaper than BFG and GG and wear almost as well, whilst behaving better on the road, especially in the wet, and self cleaning off road! | |

| MTRs are 19 on the D3, yes. Have seen a couple of Defenders with hub adaptors running D3 19" rims with MTRs and they look the pimp Defender will be staying in Dorset for the Rally - it's a 90 Truck Cab and I nearly hit it with a brick after driving 150 miles in it one day - it's not the last word in comfort as even at 5'6" I can't get the seat back far enough. Cracking engine, the 2.4, but wish we'd got a 90 CSW instead (although it would be the smelliest CSW out there with the crap we carry around in the pickup) | |

| Are dissing the Limousine qualities of Defenders there Alan? I could drive around for thousands of miles and return refreshed & relaxed! | |

| Not in a 90 truck cab you can't....... Seat back hits the rear of the cab and that's it. Velly, velly clamped. Not helped by the 07 interior, which is closer to the driver than the pre 07 interior. | |

| We did that - ran it for 12 months as a soft top but then we got our latest dog and rather than have the top chewed to bits and an escaped labrador we went back to the truck top. Since then Mrs Do$h uses it more for work than ever before so we'll not be changing back (and sold the soft top to a chap from Bovington who was getting married and had grand plans for his honeymoon, 90 style) | |
