Trying to get a streetpilot 3 up and running help needed

Hi all

managed to pick a Garmin streetpilot 3 up cheap on the bay, the guy I got it from thought he had the software for it but when he looked it was not the stuff for the Garmin.

I am under the impression I need mapsource to get this up and running.

I know theres a few guys here that do things like the Mac4x4 and some other bits and bobs so thought it might be a good place to start.

At the moment iv got it talking to memory map so its good in that respect as it will help but would like to get it up and running standalone. Anyone that knows there way around the streetpilot3 and willing to give us a hand to get it up and running could they drop us a pm or an email addy please, theres Jammy Dodgers in it

I've got Mapsource 6 running City Navigator from version 7 to current - be worth having a mess one weekend - when I've got nowt else to do

A lot is going to depend on available memory for maps to be loaded into.

you having a weekend with nowt else to do, now that id pay to see lol maybe try my unit on your laptop I dont think I can run mapsource or memory map on this laptop as its running vista and its not got a serial port on it for the data lead.
