I do have a funny story re L/R. I have had a few over the years, Safari, Disco etc. I had to go to Salisbury Plain for a joint Army/Police exercise (it was a long time ago). The L'R clutch gave out going up a hill, I guess the weight and people and equipment didn't help. I had to call the RAC they sent a lowloader. He wanted to know where he was taking us so I gave him the grid reference!!!
To our suprise he took us there, amber flashing lights etc. in the pitch black to our RV/camp.
We had the L/R fixed by REME I believe on site and it was my personal motor!!
I guess the RAC man is still living off the story!! Hopefully the G won't have such a mishap!!!

We had a Herc loadie on a course I was on some time ago. He had a good story about some air portable LR's they were throwing out the back of the plane.

Apparently they threw one out and as soon as the canopy opened and the tray began to swing the retaining pins snapped and the LR kept going.

Much to the amusement of the fella's on the ground (who had to do a runner)

i have driven a G! scary on the road! ok off! especially WHEN the 4wheel drive brakes!lol but im dam sure you'll get it there!

Hope so!! they don't have any electronics, so one thing less to worry about.

Eventually she (Gerty the G Wagen) is back after having a major service and a bit of TLC and a new MOT!!!
I can now start finding some extra bits of kit for her. Roof rack etc....
She drives beautifully!
