PostSubject: Home at last   Home at last EmptyWed Jul 02, 2014 7:34 pm

Well I have finally got home.  Very Happy After stopping off at my Mum's in Barnsley for a few days I blew the head gasket on POH going up a hill on the A66 near Barnards Castle in County Durham. No  Iam glad it did not happen in the alps! affraid
Due to the distance involved I had to be taken on two breakdown truck to get home. Embarassed , I would like to thank the two drivers for there hatd work.
Now to fix my truck Rolling Eyes,  but I will not be able to show it off at the ASDA collection this weekend Sad
still never mind.

Glad you got back Peter, sorry to hear about the head gasket, but as you say, at least it went on the way home in the UK.
Sure it'll be fixed soon enough.

The head gasket is really stuffed. Shocked and the injectors just fell apart as I removed them What a Face  so I will need to relace them No

Yes and no, Nick. I have taken it to Inverness for refurbishment so I will know everything is OK with it Very Happy
After that it is just a case of putting it back together. At one point I was thinking about rebuilding the whole engine over winter, but as I need it as part of my collection scene I decided to just do the head.
