2015 "nude" Calendar.

Ok,

I'm going to throw this one out there. I havent seen anything on it before!

What do we think to the idea of a "Nude" charity calendar - funds going towards the rally.

I know there are several people out there who do calendars already, but its a good earner and i think it has potential - especially if we sell them at Peterborough or the other land rover shows? there is nothing a dirty land rover bloke likes more than a land rover encorporating a semi nude female!

I'm in the process of doing a calendar for the Discovery 2 Boys Club, a decent one - purely land rover porn! and i've already got a list of 50 calendars sold - and this is in a rush this year to try n get em done for the new year! I only started it on 15th November!

At present these are the costs out going - subject to change!

100 calendars printed on A4 and posted to me £214
100 cardboard A4 envelopes - £20
100 1st class large letter stamps - £95

So we're looking at £329 to produce the calendar. I.e £3.29 to produce and post each calendar - ish.

Sell em at £10 plus post (£2 ish) thats £8.71 per calendar in the pot.

What do we think? I'm happy to head it up, I have 3 professional photographers willing to help - including a female one! Possibly got a few "models", however i'd like some of us to be in it!

You'll need a photographer (or photographers) who is (are) willing to sign over all copyright to either you, or the publisher of the calendar.

No problems, shall send you an email some point this week, its just a thought - seems to be a few people doing this for H4H at the moment, so might not be feasible - however it would be an excellent fund raiser!

Ref the Photographers,

My best mate, his mother, and sister are all professional full time photographers. One photographs for major venues, one for portrait shots and the other is a school photographer, they've all done the "nude" calendar thing before too. My father is chairman of the local photography club and is very very talented - but i would say that, so that wouldnt be an issue.

My best mate owns his own photography company as well as his main job, so again, he's very good, willing to help for free, and photos are mine/ours etc.....

Thanks for the update Dan - In your mail, you point out here are many calendars. I point out there is only one Help for Heroes 4x4 European Rally. As a rally, we seek to remain unique. We also have a corporate image aligned to the values of our partners and thus we won't be going down the calendar route.

Let's simply stick with the Great British public at the likes of supermarkets etc.

Sorry to be the harbinger of such news.

Dan, have to agree with others here. Besides , who wants to see Keith,Richie et al in the nude !!

yep nothing personal taken from this at all. Having spoken to keith, im in agreement its not for us!
It wont however stop me producing one - non rally related.

It was as said - an idea for us, thats all.

Working my current shifts i only have one weekend in six off, and a maximum of 3 days off between sets of shifts, each time off of nights so thats 1/2 a day gone already, so for me getting out to the supermarkets is quite difficult, hence me trying to broaden the scope of just collections at supermarkets. I feel in order to do "my bit" i need to be more proactive in things that i can do weekdays when im off and during "down time" at work on nights. We're getting there, and we're not doing bad, £1100 in the pot so far, so we're well on way for the £2k and hope to achieve alot more.

of the 14 stores we've approched here, only 8 have replied and of those 8 we've been offered one weekend, and no one will let us collect week days.

Dan - don't do yourself down. You are doing great. Per my email, think about garden centres. DIY shops etc - they'll allow mid week collections. From experience I'm not surprised you've had so few replies - best way forward is to visit the store and speak with the Community Champion. This displays to the CC that you are genuine and passionate and personalises the request.

Why not go for one of 12 different makes/models of dirty 4x4, with nude/semi nude or close to, model. Then sell to the whole of the 4x4 community - could be a big market .....

already in the pipe line matey - and i had a very exciting call from LRO this morning   

So we shall see what the future brings. I'll be doing it personally anyway, and then its up to me where i choose to donate the dosh   

Obviously funds wont be in this year on time, but for next year, who knows!

The future could be very naked!

Well thought you may like an update..... my first attempt at doing a calendar - non nude! Was for the D2 Boys Club. I had a competition whereby members voted for their favorite photos out of a selection of them. Making it clear all proceeds were for a "charity" at my discretion

its not a huge club with only a few committed members, but, after all the costs were taken out, postage and envelopes etc etc etc i did turn a small profit!

I made £156 all gone to the rally pot, not very much but still dosh! - Only issue is i still got about 50 calendars HAHA! any calendars i now sell are profit (minus p+p) so im hoping to get rid of a few at knock down price at billing and peterbog etc etc etc.

lots of lessons learned, and already have 3 corporate sponsors for next year meaning that outgoing costs are almost zero. Now to do my own calendar or go with a club one again...... hmmmmmm
