| The organisors are looking at a target of £200,000. for 2014.After the amazing results of the tesco collection this weekend, it seems possible if we don't all now sit back and say "we've got our minimum of £2K" With the cumulative total now at £630K, wouldn't it be wonderful if we could hit the £1m. All it needs is an average of £8.2K per team. Can we do it? Can I do it? I don't know , but I'm going to do my best, so come on everybody and let's do our best to make it happen. | |

| The key is simple - if every single crew 'does its bit' the £200k is very achievable. Yes the H4H/Tesco w/e was a national campaign but there is no reason why crews up and down the country can't arrange their own collection dates with a range of supermarkets.
This w/e has reconfirmed that the Great British public are truly Great. A MASSIVE thanks to them and to Tescos.

| The Tesco weekend is an encouraging START. As Tony says, lets not sit back but go for 'gold'.

| It would be too easy now to sit back and say the minimum per crew, for a lot of us has now been reached - as said above.
BUT, I'm with Tony. Let's see if we can take it to the next level. Forget the 2K per team - let's raise the bar and go for the £1M. A tall order maybe, but if we can get the kind of money raised at Tesco and previously Asda over a weekend, then it wouldn't take more than half a dozen weekends each to hit the target.
We all now know who our contacts at Tesco and Asda are, let's keep at it while it's fresh in their memories. Our Tesco Customer Service Manager and her team were astounded at the amount we raised, but also went to say that their customers are very generous when it comes to giving to charity. Which why we jumped on their diary and bagged a one day slot just before Xmas. We're going to do the same with Asda, as they were more than willing to see us come back.
So, for us, that's only two more days, maybe three, which if past experience is anything to go by will see another £2 - £3K raised.
How many of you out there work for companies who employ sub-contractors? I'm, perhaps, luck that I work in the construction industry, and some of our subbys are more than happy to donate a few hundred pounds to charity in return for stickers on the truck and a couple of photos for their news letter etc... all good publicity.
Try local companies - not national - local builders, plumbers, painters/decorators, double glazing etc... The local companies might surprise you and be happy to donate a couple of hudred in return for seeing you truck driving around the town with their stickers on it. Go for a drive around you local industrial estates - see who's about - do a letter drop, but by hand, not post. 5 donations of £200 is another £1K - even in the "resession" they can afford it.
Don't forget the local press - alwasy good for raising the profile.

| Agree with all that's been said. It is possible to raise over £2k per team. It just takes a few, and I mean a few, weekends/days. What's that compared to the enjoyment and pleasure you will all get from taking part in the Rally? So onwards and upwards and keep rattling those buckets | |

| £2k is a relatively easy amount to raise in my humble opinion. Evey 2014 entrant has signed up to that as a minimum, or no go at the start!!!
Let's make this the rally of fundraising to be remembered.

| Your rally organisers really appreciate all the above comments.
The key to successful fund raising - as vindicated by the wonderful Creedy's - is the supermarkets; and that has been validated by the weekend's Tesco collection.
There is no reason whatsoever why crews cannot achieve well in excess of the minimum of £2k. In fact I get very frustrated at the excuses I hear from previous years' teams about why they haven't achieved the basic - everyone, and I mean everyone, can raise £5k; it just requires a little effort. It is clear some teams simply haven't bothered.
But for 2014 EVERY team has been reminded - a number of times - that the rally is about and for the H4H cause. It's not a jolly through Europe.
So, we sincerely hope that the 'rallying calls' you have all scribed above will be listened to. And of course all 2014 will be receiving emails in the months ahead reminding them why the rally takes place.
Great job all - 'Onwards and Upwards'

| Wrist bands are a quick easy buck.
We had some left over from the Tesco weekend. So, I emailed the H4H team and asked if we could hang on to them as we had the chance of a couple of outlets.
2 days later, another 100 wristbands have been "sold". Another £200 or more to go into the kitty.
We have another couple of hundred on the way ............... it's like taking candy ......
