Tanks, Trucks & Firepower Show - August Bank Holiday

With a lot of help from Toby Heason, we have the chance to go to the Tanks, Trucks & Firepower Show over the August Bank Holiday (24th/25th/26th August) at Dunchurch, near Rugby.
It's a relatively small show, but a good quality one.

Camping is available to H4H Rally teams for free, yes, free. The only cost will be fuel to get there and one day's worth of entrance fees. (entry £22 for a family ticket (2 adults and three children under 16), £8 adults, £3.50 kids & senior citizens, under 5's go free). Yes, pay for one day and get entry for all three days. Showers, toilets etc... on site and tanks, lots of tanks .......

Now, this is two weeks before the LRO Peterborough Show (7th/8th Sept), which is the H4H Rally official launch for the 2014 Rally and, of course, the reunion for all H4H Rally entrants, past, present and future. So the Tanks, Trucks and Firepower gathering is not intended to replace Peterborough, nor encroach on the importance of Peterborough, it's simply a chance to go if you fancy it. Nothing H4H Rally official will be happening.

We're going, because it's a chance to get away for the Bank Holiday and an excuse to have a BBQ and a few ales (port??).
We'll also be at the Peterborough Show, in full Rally Reunion mode - field kitchen, communial cooking etc... etc...

After Peterborough is the Adventure Overland Show - Stratford Racecourse - 28th/29th Sept, which we migh also have a look at.

If anyone is going to the Adventure overland show come and say hello as we will have a stand there and Hero bear will be turning up at some point

Just turn up. Pay for one day and it'll do for the whole weekend. Camping free for H4H Rally trucks.

That's good and also means more money for refreshments ! 

Anyone else fancy joining us? Should be a bit of fun for the Bank Holiday weekend.

I would think so. Saves messing Saturday up with travelling and pitching etc...

I wasn't intending to take it - not that many of us going, but ..... I could ...... Only problem is, I don't think we'll have a mess tent for it to go in if the weather lets us down.

Will see what I can sort this weekend and report back.

If sandy can organise the tent, but not coming, I can always pick it up from him. If that helps.

OK, that could work, if Sandy can get a tent.

Don't worry the weather will be great for that weekend. It's a bank holiday what else would you expect

OK, slight change of plan for cooking facility.
Field kitchen is getting left at home and we'll be bringing a No5 cook unit, oven and Rob Barkers 12x12 although a second 12x12 might be useful. Unless Ross is right !!!!!!

Unfortunately, I'm on exercise in Scotland.

I'll be using my tentage to shelter from the 4 seasons in one day experience for the next 2 weeks.
