H4H 4x4 European Rally 2011 will launch at the LANDROVERmax! 2010 Show 28-30 August

Land Rover Monthly has kindly invited the organisers of H4H 4x4 European Rally to their LANDROVERmax! 2010 Show being held at Stoneleigh, Warwickshire on the Bank Holiday weekend of 28th-30th August. www.lrmshow.com has details of the w/e. We believe this is an opportunity for a reunion for the ‘Class of 2010’ as well as an opportunity to launch the 2011 event – and start recruiting a ‘Class of 2011’!

LRM will provide space for a ‘stand’ – we intend utilising our well travelled and easily recognised ‘event shelter’ but need to know numbers and confirmation of commitment as soon as possible.

If you are interested in attending can you please reply by the usual email address and indicate which days you want to be there; camping and show discounts will be prioritised to those attending the entire weekend (with possible free access/camping) then possible discounts for two days or a one day.

Final costs will only be known once we know H4H 4x4 rally attendee numbers.

We have been asked been asked if we would be prepared to take ‘guests’ on the 4x4 track; the passenger paying a ‘fee’ to the H4H pot. Please let us know if you would also want to participate in this aspect.

The arena will also be made available to us (times to be advised) to PR the 2010 event and to also act as a recruitment campaign for 2011.

I don't own a Lawn Rover

Thanks to all those who responded about the Stoneleigh Show at the end of August. We have now ‘filled’ our stand with the 12 vehicles needed.
Many thanks to those below who have all been allocated the 12 spaces available on H4H 4x4 European Rally Stand all weekend:

Car Zero 2 – Cars 6 – 12 – 13 -15 –17 – 21 – 22 - 31 – 33 - 44 and 45.

We know most of the remainder of you can’t make the entire weekend – thus our thoughts turn to what time over that w/e to ‘formalise’ a reunion. Optimum timing seems to lean towards the Saturday afternoon/evening – hopefully all above can bring along some BBQ cooking facilities and we can all ‘muck in’.

In addition to the above, and to help with BBQ numbers – can you let us know via email if you are coming along? Once we know about additional names/numbers we’ll enquire about discounted entry – but cannot promise as such. For clarity – the BBQ food/refreshments will be ‘bring your own’.

If you still want to come along for the whole w/e it’s still worth letting us know – in case anyone on list above drops out at the last minute. Also, I’m happy to ask re discounted w/e tickets.

Regretfully Nick & I will be unable to attend as we already have a prior engagement that weekend. It is the weekend of our local village fete where we are marshalls.I usually set up the PA system and the fete has all the usual stalls,races ie egg & spoon,three legged,blindfold etc., but it all takes place on water.After the afternoons fun,we finish with a hog roast,jazz band and amazing firework display. We really wish we could be with you and hope you all have a superb weekend.Hopefully,there will be other reunion opportunities.

Darren - Yes, it is still correct. We'll be contacting all the 'non-Class of 2010', who we couldn't take along this year, in the next week or so. I have your details and you'll be included in that 'group' email.

Is it camping Saturday and Sunday night then home Monday (2 night camping)?

Hi Jo - Hope you are now well on the way to recovery after the rally!! Hope the kids have been able to tell a few tales to their school-mates & teachers.

I don't yet have the final costings from the Show organisers. We will be camping the Fri/Sat/Sun nights. That option is also available to you.

A 'yes' - the Event shelter will be with us; although I'm sure the great British summer will mean that we won't actually need it!! Ha!

Because of H&S, many Shows want the cars on the stands early, and before the show opens; so you may want to factor that into your number of nights decision.

Re the off-road element - Car Zero 2 – Cars 12 – 13 -15 –17 – 21 – 22 - 31 – 33 - 35 - 44 and 45 are booked to be on the stand all w/e. Via Dominic (Nav of Car 6) some of the H4H gang will be taking 'paying guests' around the 4x4 site; the payment goes to the H4H pot. At the moment we don't have any designated times.

A number of others have hinted their appearance; we plan the Sat evening as the 'Class of 2010 Reunion

The September edition of LRM confirms that the H4H 4x4 European Rally will be part of the arena activities at the Stoneleigh show, mentions that 43 vehicles took part, that over £100,000 was raised, quotes the 'Class of 2010' and that names can be put down for 2011.
