A very good night good food good beer and great company nice too meet some of the teams I think this rally is going too be a bit of a laugh.

What on earth has happened! Hero the Bear is 'tea-total'. I've allowed him to go out with with the AA on what I was told would be 'a day in the life of an AA patrolman' - and he ends up in a pub - drinking ale!

Also Hero hasn't come home yet - is he ashamed of the company in which he found himself last night or is it the hangover (probably the company!)?

And - as for Bill - telling the world where the start is. It'll be on the BBC news next! So much for secrecy.

What I did say was "I'm taking him to an AA meeting" He's not home yet due to the trip he's going on Today pictures to follow
