At The Risk of Kicking Off the "Inter-Manufacturer Urine Removing League"...

My wonderful Chugaboom failed to start just before Xmas. I thought the cold had gotten to it, but even when warmer and bolted to another running vehicle with them jump lead thingummies it wouldn't play.

Sent it to my local 4x4 experts (Douglass Motors) for some TLC and ended up parting with a fairly significant wedge.

Glow plugs replaced
Cylinder 2 glow plug only top half came out
Head off
Valves very cocked up
Valve stem seals gone
Rocker caps gone

Still... they did a good job.

Last night left home to drive down to Bovington for business...

Got as far as Ringwood and I think the Turbo has gone....

my trucks finally going in garage tomorrow to have its LSD put in and tighten the steering!

Bad luck mate can sympathize been there and blown a crank and needed to do an engine change before now. Hope you get it sorted

Sorry Chuggaboom is ill. Get hold of Wix (Team Wickes). Get it over to his garage in Bethnal Green and he will sort it for you! He normally works on decent motors!!!! Mercs or Jeeps but he will still do wonders......

Good News!

Garage reckons it's firing on three cylinders....! Given they had the head off and changed the glow plugs... that puts it firmly in their pocket! Wooohoooo!

So thanks for the suggestions guys.... but I won't be needing the pilots left over duct tape!

Now for some of the other points.

Team Wickes: Expect a booking for the Waxoyling service that was mentioned AGES ago.... still not got round to it! Got no excuse really... Mrs Skibum is working round the corner in Hackney through the week!

NoDosh: No I don't work for the Blue Eagles... whoever they are.... On a contract @ the Armour Centre. Over the next two or three years I'll gradually move to being there all but permanently. So I'm sure the opportunity will be taken for the odd weekend or two playing on the plain.

Wouldn't quite say solved yet.... but certainly it's much closer to being solved. Away on business all next week, then cadets the following weekend... so probably going to be a week on Monday before I can get back behind the driving seat.
