It's Friday Night And I'm....

Still stuck in Fife... 8 minutes before I left to get my flight home... was told needed to work the weekend....

Checked out of the hotel this morning... checked back in this agfternoon... bummer!

On the upside... we found a loverly Ghurka restaraunt.... Nameste indeed!

Feeling more mellow wrapped around two large bottles of Cobra and a Morgans and coke... seems to be helping my typing as well!

So what have you lot got on this weekend that I'm gonna miss out on?

trying to find a 'new' starter motor for Lucy, a '76 ex mil series 3 24v lightweight. The current motor is well dead.

Is Lucy not still under warrenty you will have to have a word with Bill. Place by us will have one I will try and find out how much. Do you want new or secondhand?

On for 8 days on the trot from today But the weekend does have 2 away Ice hockey games 1 in Basingstoke and the other in Swindon.

Also there is nothing like a Ghurka Curry We've Had quite a few in the RMA Mmmmmmmmmmm Lovely.

First intro was as a young squddie @ Catterick... 8 Sigs... Ghurka Sigs held a gathering and we were all welcome... loadsa good food and friendly Ghurkas...

My weekend is looking after the 2 grandchildren as their parents are abroad (Scotland) at a wedding; so a Father Christmas grotto beckons this afternoon and the Watercress Line Christmas Special tomorrow. Monday = sleep all day!!!

Still having no joy getting you a starter. The best I found was a new one for £160 .
Is there no where down your way that can recon it for you.
You could always use the starting handle.

Tony,thanks for your efforts. Have got a local firm trying to rebuild it(don't know yet at what cost) also found somebody who is selling a 'new' one at £95 which I am thinking of buying,just in case, all the numbers tie up,so seems a good idea. have got a new solenoid which will fit at the same time.Will probably fit new batteries also.Then,if she starts,will be able to get her in for a thorough seeing to.

One of they batteries are only a few months old Tone.

Hiya mate, as you know I'm not mechanically minded nor practical and am every garages dream,I believe what they say and pay for it!! So want Lucy up and running so will pay for it.Belt and braces job

Got Lucy's rebuilt,refurbished starter back today. looks like a brand new one,straight out of the box !. just got to fit it now-hopefully tomorrow,weather permitting (if snowing,will be out in the defender playing!!)
Fingers crossed it will all work. Sooooo want Lucy up and running.

Nothing like a bit of snow to make owning a 4X4 much more of a pleasure . You never hear the complaints about them when the weather is rough.
