| I have been looking at inverters assuming I need one to power laptop and phone chargers etc. Is there a recommended one or does any inverters do the job? Assuming it is DC- AC. How long would it power a laptop before the 12v battery gives out!!!???? | |

| JJ - Bought one recently from Camberley Auto Factors - circa £38 (no doubt can be bought cheaper somewhere). It has a 25amp in line fuse, a normal UK domestic socket + a couple of cig lighter sockets. It'll take up to 100W - my Dell laptop runs off a 65W adaptor; so there is still capacity. One point - I've hard wired direct to the car battery. The test - ran the laptop all day (8 hours) during the recent recee; no probs at all. This detail from a non-techo. Incredible eh! | |

| If you have a look on Ebay you can find some good deals, also if you have a look in the likes of camperland, Halfords, Motorworld etc then you can normaly pick up a good deal
I have a 250w one I think it is that I got from Lidl a few months back to run small chargers and some bits and bobs off. The plan is to be able to run the laptop or charge it up on the go and any bits I cant charge up of 12v or usb | |

| Thanks Paul I had a look at Ebay (cos you said too!) and they have a UK 150W Car Power Inverter DC 12V - AC 220V USB Adapter for £13...I guess that will do the job and it auto cuts out when battery gets too low to save the battery! | |

| The inverter turned up.... Brand new seems to work and smaller in size than I thought, so easy to mount somewhere. All in all good!! | |
