| My crank case seal looks like its just died lots of oil over the road and a lovely knocking from the engine. It could be good it could be bad if its £300 its going to be a good day :-( at least you wont be the only one with lots of repairs for the event lol | |

| They dont break often mate I think its just a case of its time was up just need to know what was mechanical behind it to cause it to fail the bottom pully was twitching on its axis a bit so im thinking big end bearing has failed.
To be fair truck is on 108k so its had a good inings I suppose and as much as I wanted to do a total strip out and rebuild of all the emergency warning kit and equipment carried and do jobs for the rally, I could have done without the dam thing forcing it on me.
Oh well got a few months to sort it out just stuck without transport now thats the biggest pain the butt and after spending yesterday on public transport to go to the local shopping area it worked out cheaper to have driven there and paid parking after all.
Oh well
Still going to email bushcables later on see if I can have a set for some advertising too :-)

| Hey up Paul. Watch oot for that bottom pully thingy as they are known to fail via the woodruff key that holds the pully in place and then MAJOR engine rebuild.
Check it as soon as possible as that is the wake up call from the engine of the woody failing. If ye leave it then ye will be faced with a crank shaft that canny be used due to the worn channel. Especially if you can see it wobble at the mo.
Good luck and fingers crossed.
(soz for post highjack but this is important)

| Will give it a look Bill, with the nocking and the amount of oil its thrown out its officaly off the road and is mid way through being stripped out for having the engine pulled out.
Got to go out with the camera and start photoing everything up so I know were it goes back to there is a million and one vacume pipes there and little multi plugs so iv got them to mark up best I can then hopefully it will be going to my tame mechanic to have a look at we do have a couple of ways to go with it but want to get access to the front of the engine so we can have a better idea of what has gone and what has likley to have gone with it and then look at putting a working engine back in somehow.
A plan is in place so I should hopefully be back on the road, using public transport is killing me lol
On the plus side with the truck being off the road it gives me chance to address some other issues and get some jobs done it while its doing nothing so there are posatives from it.
Must remember to email bushcables and see if they would be willing to work with another team or offer a discount or something though am expecting a bit of a no as they are already supporting one team.
