'Petersfield-London-Sydney Overland Adventure'

We met Joe & Tom and the LRO show! These guys are going to be driving a Land Rover from Petersfield - London - Sydney over a 25 week period, covering an amazing 25,000km - they are also going to be raising money for Help for Heroes.

Have fired of an email of support to them and mentioned id seen it on this site.

I know how much planning on im doing for this trip god only knows what there todo list must be like and the hoops they will have to jump through to get to the end. What I do know is I WANT TO GO TOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! :-(

The London to Sydney is something that I want to do after watching the 1st Rally, in '68 I think it was.
Roger Clarke won it in an Escort.

Thanks for putting this link up Tim, and thanks to all who have emailed us. A link to your website is going up soon on ours.

Your support is greatly appreciated and its good to hear of others who are doing these kind of expeditions for a great cause.

Planning right now is difficult considering we are just out of sixth form college! Any advice/banter/tips etc etc would be fantastic, good luck to you all and hopefully hear from you soon.

What are you guys doing about security arrangements for the middle east, afghanistan ect.?

I would imagine those will be civillian no go areas for quite some time to come. Are you approaching a private security company?

Its great to hear all your enthusiasm, support and other big words like that! Smile

if you haven't already done so, please look at www.londonsydney.co.uk to see what we're like! We have put a link to the h4h rally on our website as well because we admire your event.

With regards to your earlier post by Alane, if you look at the route on the website you will see that we are avoiding the middle east by traveling east from Europe into Belarus and Russia. From there we drop down into Kazakhstan, Usbekistan etc etc (avoiding Afghanistan) and into China. Tibet and Nepal follow shortly, with South East Asia up next. A container ship from Singapore to Darwin and then down through the Simpson Desert will see us arrive in Sydney in time for tea Smile

KB - yeah, Petersfield on a saturday night can get pretty fun! We would be grateful of any advice or contacts that you have to offer. We will be shouting at Tim very shortly. (Sorry Tim).
