| Just been replying to another thread and got a good idea was put forward so I thought I would start this thread so that we can pool ideas. The plan is for people to make a suggestion about how we can do basic fundrasing and gain support and then ill edit this post to try and create a list so to speak, im sure you know what I mean lol.
- Official stickers on vehicls - Flyer printed off and put in windows on vehicles and add just giving details to it - Print off or get some business cards with details and just giving page details on to hand out - print off or get some flyers printed with just giving details on - Keep a supply of sponsorship forms in vehicles for when asked whats it all about - pitch at local shopping center. - t-shirt with details on
Keep them coming guys

| .....and I don't know if this works yet but I have emailed the twp largest shopping centres nearest to me with a view of getting a pitch, sometime between now and Xmas. I have explained the event and I am hoping they will allow a couple of vehicles to pitch up. So watch this space, I'll let you know their response. I am going to phone them tomorrow to follow up. | |

| John - For sure you'll get a yes from both Malls (let me know if you get a 'No') as long its the G-Wagon isn't leaking oil and has some H4H banners emblazoned. It's good PR for the Mall. Don't forget the Sponsorship Form and a bucket! Others taking part may wish to think along John's idea - the pitch might be different but you'll find most big stores, particularly the complexes on the edge of towns very sympathetic. But DO ASK permission. It's also a good spot for the local journalist to interview you 'in action'. | |

| Am going to hit our local council this week and find out who I would need to speak to about getting a setup in the local town center, im also going to hit the local rag and also the big local Echo and 3 of the local radio stations one of whom I have a contact in so could come in handy.
I am also toying with the idea of doing a car wash at our local supermarket that has a huge car park with a Sainsburys, Homebase, Argos and a Mc D's was going to go talk to them and the local fire station after all im going to need water lol and I dont think the waterbutt is going to be enough. | |

| I have just gone to Sainsburys in Canterbury my nearest City. I have explained our Rally gave them a flyer endorsed by me, to the manager and the lady in question has given me the permission to collect outside her store at various times and dates! It would appear they all need a letter of introduction and information of the rally. So print off fthe flyer and write or print a letter on the back, with contact details. They will definately come back to you. | |

| Here are a couple of links and also a couple of ideas you can use to raise money http://www.ideasfundraising.co.uk/http://www.bluecross.org.uk/web/site/Fundraising/AZFundraising.asp http://www.raisingfunding.co.uk/fundraisingideascategory.html Work media - If you work for a company with an internal magazine, newsletter or intranet, don't forget to send them information too – the company may well be keen to hear about your news and see pictures, especially if other members of staff from the company are involved. Fundraising Ideas in the office - In every office, there comes a point in time when swearing usually becomes the norm. If this is representative of your office, why not try adding a swear box and agree to add a fine to it every time you swear. You'll be amazed at how quickly the money can add up and you can then donate it to charity every time the jar is full. Similarly, you can put a collection box on your central office desk and whenever anyone has some spare change they can put it in there. If you have a reception desk, try putting one there and encouraging staff to add their loose change to it when they leave every night. If you're worried about security, make sure you use a sealed collection box and attach it to the desk with a chain. Another great fundraising idea at work is particularly useful if you have to wear a suit to work. You can arrange a non-working uniform day, or a casual dress day. Each individual who wants to take part has to pay a fee to do so and the money is then donated to a charity. You could also organise a sweepstake for an upcoming sporting event. There are plenty to take part in from football to tennis or the Grand National. Simply award the winner 50% of the total takings and the other 50% can go to your chosen fundraising cause. If you think your work colleagues would enjoy a raffle, why not approach local shops or even your own company for some free prizes that can be raffled off for charity. Remember it's easy to buy a raffle book and sell the tickets for no more than 2GBP. | |
