| We've been using Dashboard as a trip meter on the Iphone for a few years on both this and other rallies and it's always been good, with one slight niggle - it won't run in the background, so you can't use the 'phone for anything else while Dashboard is in use.
What do those with Andriod 'phones use? Tried a couple, but not really that easy to use. Main issue is that the one's I've tried need more than a "one touch" to reset the trip.
Any suggestions? The idea is we'll dedicate one 'phone to be used for the distance trip between tulips and the Iphone can then be used for other stuff as well.

| Gpstrip (not gps trip) used to be ok, we used it on the mac although it seems to have moved on a bit since then. Gpsodometer also looks ok
Although we gave up on them last year as they all gave us a different reading. At one point we had 4 trips running on 2 devices and every one was different.

| I've got an old sextant if that helps. I'm told we can expect clear skies in the second part of June! | |

| All fine there Nick except for the Ship's Trailing Log As a rally 'veteran' you seem to have ignored one of our primary Rules - Ship's Trailing Logs are referred to in a number Sections of the Rally Rules, but I refer particularly to Chapter 37, Para 197(h)(iii) which clearly states (and I quote); "Ship's Trailing Logs are banned from usage at any time during the Help for Heroes 4x4 European Rally. Such equipment could be seen as outside navigational assistance and aid crews in the knowledge of facts they don't need to know" | |
