In case of accident in France Empty
PostSubject: In case of accident in France   In case of accident in France EmptySat May 05, 2012 3:10 am

Just in case you become involved in an accident in France, this might be helpful to all:

As you probably already know, you must always carry your driving documents including driving licence, carte gris(V5) and insurance certificate with you in the car in France.

Should you be unlucky enough to be involved in an accident there are certain procedures you must do. Firstly, if nobody is injured and both parties agree on the facts you are not obliged to call the police.

Your Insurance Company will have issued you with a Constat Amiable d'Acident or Accident Report sheet, which by law you must also have in the car at all times.

It should include the location of the accident; the names and addresses of both drivers; any witness names; all the licence details and the details of the other driver's insurer.

However, if you are in any doubt as to what has been written by the other party then do not sign it. Call the police on 112 or 17 - they will hopefully be able to clarify the situation.

Please also remember, in France it is the Law to stop and assist if you are the first on the scene of an accident or a vehicle in any form of trouble.

More penalty points for Team 15 & 18; reason - imposing more work on your caring, considerate, understanding, sympathetic and kind organisers Twisted Evil

Don't stress yourself Wal, we will organise a towing rota, and rope in the organisers as well. Alternatively ask Tony for help, he seems to have plenty of spare time on his hands at the moment lol!
