Asda - who's at which ones

As per Keith's email earlier in the week, who's chasing Asda in their area.

We're hoping to team up with Edie and Matt Lynch (Ainsdale Crusaders) and get the big Asda on the outskirts of Liverpool at Switch Island.

Couldn't get the Hypermarket outside Southampton-already taken! but got the main one in middle of Southampton-not the busiest but has advantage that anybody using one of main multistorey car parks and going into shopping centre,has to walk through Asda-so hopefully plenty of 'passing trade'

That's all great news guys/gals - and a great opportunity.

Just this afternoon I have been confirmed as the 'Store Point Of Contact' for the Aintree Asda ( mentioned earlier by Nick.

Booked in for Asd, Abbey Park, London Road, Coventry, Warwickshire, CV3 4AR. Now on the hunt for volunteers... got two already who registered with the website so that's cool... and I suspect some of the other local rally teams will be volunteering so we should be good to go!

It's a reasonable size mate... but not massive. We're there 12th & 13th May.

We are at Asda Super Centre Edinburgh but things have gone a bit Pete Tong.

Their community whatever hasn't arranged anything even though we have been in contact with him for the past 3 weeks. He even tried telling the H4H office he knew nothing about us even though we have an email trail and had a face to face with him. I would put a string of expletives here but can't be bothered.

Mailed local Cadets, TA, Scouts and general email at work and we seem to have been able to raise 20 volunteers to help us out over the weekend so all should be good

Our helpful, hardworking, compassionate organisers would never make a mistake!!

well,back home after a long disappointing day at Asda and just about to count up.The store is a small quiet 'Express' type who's clientelle are mainly eastern european,ethnics or students.There is a walkway through from a multi storey carpark to the main shopping centre. The store 'community colleague' couldn't have been more helpful, can't say the same about the manager. We were not allowed to stand,collect on the walkway and were placed in an odd corner of the shop,so no passing trade, but hey, as they say 'every little helps'-just hoping for a better day tomorrow.

We found Asda to be unhelpful too,would not even let us get a cuppa from the canteen without a load of hassle,and the we would not have been able to drink it on the shop floor due to health and saftey

Today we have managed to get a £1,000 sponsership from The Oldershaw singers

Went to the store a couple of weeks ago and met Community colleague who said we would be in a great spot by the walkway/store entrance. On the day manager said 'unless you can physically produce a street collecting licence now,you ain't going there' !
The community girl was quite upset but at least she kept bringing us coffee.
Toatal for day inc. merchandising was £560.
Lets hope for better today- and hope it's a different duty manager.

Really sorry to hear the woes of some of you - but hey; you're trying - you are out and about and giving up your time to support H4H; that's brill in itself.

Every penny counts - and we know what brilliant ambassadors you are for 'the cause'

Well weekend over and count up done. Broke 'the rules' today and rattled a couple of buckets in the walkway for a couple of hours ,which certainly produced better results.
Donations £679.15 + 1cent and a few green Asda tokens!
Merchandise £228.50.
Could have been better,but all things considered, am pleased with the result.

Good one Tony! - great stuff - a very nice wodge for the pot.

(I think we should all put our asda tokens together and ebay them )
