| I previous years, most have filled up in Portsmouth (there's a Tescos and several other fuel dumps) just before going to the ferry. Therefore (unless you drive a particularly thirsty truck), Sunday isn't a problem.
As Richard points out, supermarkets and other fuel dumps are around (throughout the trip) that are un-manned and open 24/7, so as long as you have a credit or debit card (Chip n Pin) then you won't have a problem.

| If the entourage passes near Caen they will be 'off-route' - fuelling in/near Portsmouth is the better option. Having said that, and with further thought, many will probably pass near Caen | |

Having said that, and with further thought, many will probably pass near Caen I imagined that the Portsmouth-Caen crossing would bring most of of us close to Caen (organisers exempt as they are on a different agenda) and its Supermarkets for fuel. I would point out that it is very unlikely that the Supermarkets are likely to be open for food shopping as France is not so liberal with the sunday opening hours as most of you are used to in the UK.

| Richard - When we met at Stafford, I forgot to show you an important bit of kit that we organisers carry with us. They are called 'goal-posts'. They are quite large - nevertheless, we move them around quite a bit! A big 'Yes' to the Supermarket/food warning you've given out. | |
