| As you were saying about sat navs and camra detectors the (5'O) police will take them off you even if they are in the glove box as a friend found out costly (as some can still work there). get a good europe map. | |

| As organisers, for safety, although not compulsory, we advise all crews to have a Sat Nav.
As a GPS navigational tool they are not illegal in any of the countries we pass through. Of course it is your responsibility to comply with the laws of each country we are in.
Speed isn't an issue on this event - hence any device set and capable of detecting speed cameras/radar traps etc isn't in compliance with the ethos of the rally.
Hope this helps.
Thanks | |

| I have a TomTom 520 with Western Europe Maps.
Haven't used it in Europe yet but in the UK it's spot on.
Driving through Portugal and into Spain later this month so I'll let you know how I get on.

Been using Tom Tom for some years noo in my cars and also on me Ambulance.
I think its what yer get used to to be honest as I did try out a Navman unit and just couldnae get on with it.

| Check out the TomTom website. Loads of them come with bells and whistles that you don't really need. Mine has an MP3 (useful) player that plays through the radio, bluetooth thingy for the phone (useless) and a few other bits. Another good source of info is www.pocketgpsworld.com | |

| Used the TomTom through Portugal and into Spain during our Holiday.
Never missed a turn even in the very complicated motorway system around Seville and up through the Spanish mountains.
I would recommend the Western Europe maps to anyone.

| Sorry to be a pain on this; but if anyone can help Peter on this then great. However, can you make sure it is an original/'no longer required' TomTom SD card ie not a 'copy' infringing on copyright. | |
