Team 44 - Muck & Malarkey

We originally signed up for the North American Outrageously Large and Over-Liveried Vehicle Challenge in June 2010 but, due to some early navigational errors, found ourselves in Northern Europe with a large number of tent-packing 4x4s; at the mercy of an evil family of event organisers who made us accompany THEIR rally wherever it went and make them cups of tea, in return for the promise of a free ferry ride home.

The rest, as they say, is the stuff of nightmares!

We managed to avoid being conscripted onto the 2011 Rally by hiding under the bed, pretending to emigrate and rendering the Ambulance utterly unroadworthy. Unfortunately, Tim and Keith managed to track us down and, like H4H fundraising versions of the Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, lured us from our hiding place and, reminding us of their infernal and unbreakable contract signed in blood and axle grease, forced us to accompany them to Berchtesgaden once again.

Wey hey - good to see ya back in the fold (as if you ever really left).

Whilst it is 'sort of good' to have you back for 2012 (have you ever really been away Ha) I think we need to review the 'contract'. Your 2010 entry was allowed on the basis that your kindly, caring, understanding and sympathic organisers were of the opinion that you were bringing the ambulance along as a 'mobile hotel' for said organisers. How wrong we were.

We had to endure the same harsh camping conditions as all the other entrants. Indeed our half dozen attempts to gain unlawful (but not unreasonable) entry to the ambulance's sleeping quarter were all repelled; by a camel.

However, as all know, we are not ones to bear a grudge thus Car 44 is heartedly welcomed in it's participation of the 2012 rally. Mind you, it's unlikely that Car 44 will appear any higher on any results list

Sarah/Simon - Great to have you on board. Readers new to the forum/rally may wish to note that in 2010 Sarah, Simon and B'ambi (the ambulance) were 3rd overall. The classic story of not rusting but doing everything.
