| I will protest that a disco 3 is the most umreliable car I have a 101 that has 100% chance of breaking down on any given journey. Although Tom from team galloway has had a couple of problems with his along the way. | |

| Remind me Richie, did I have to rebuild the transmission on my D3 in the last 12 months? No, don't think I did | |

| There are some drivers who say it's the Navigator's fault! But that might start another debate | |

That opens up a whole new debate and tin of worms We started the rally last year counting on one navigation row a day on average. By day 5 we were getting worried that we hadn't had one and that multiple rows could be on the horizon. Later that day, we had one that made up, in 5 mins, for all the ones we hadn't had The good thing about it was the kids shut up for a while Seriously, though, it was all forgotten 10 mins later. | |

| One thing i learnt from our instructor many years ago when i done O level air navigation is that a navigator is never lost just unsure of his whereabouts. Thats about the only thing i learnt from that course It shouldn't be looked at as a row but of constructive decision making. What a load of B**l | |

| Oh yes - some fun and hot air ahead. I recall one crew threatening to throw his Nav out; with Passport and some €s to get a boat home. For sure it wouldn't be right if there was calm and tranquility in the cockpit Ha The golden rule is be yourselves and trust your own judgements - if lost, stop where it is safe and go back to a 'known' place, use some logic - and set off again; don't follow the car in front; they might be going the wrong way | |

| Difficult rule to follow, but, drivers, you're the driver and the navigator is the navigator, never challenge their instructions, unless it's clearly a dangerous mistake (in which case, 9 times out of 10, you've misheard the instruction). We apply this rule on both the H4H and the Mac and never got lost. The only time it's gone wrong on either event is when the driver ignored the navigator. On last year's H4H, that's when our "5th day row" broke out!!!! And on this years Mac, the driver wasn't listening!!!!! | |
