| Sorry to hear about that Nick. Have you got the head on quick release fittings yet? Did they not pressure and sniff test it before sending you on your way? | |

| Ha ha - quick release - must look into that when I'm putting it back together. No - wasn't pressure or sniff tested. When we checked it the following day, the system was still under a slight pressure, which rang the alarm bell a bit, especially as it had pulled some fluid back from the header tank.
Hey ho - it's done over 100k, so it wouldn't hurt to open it up and have a look anyway. Also going to change every water hose now too - just incase. One's popped, so the others probably need changing anyway.
Frank - can I borrow some of your straight face mode please - ha ha.

| Got it stripped this afternoon - two obvious cracks in the head and two marks that look like they're probably cracks.
Good job I have an engine (out of a scrap truck) that had been rebuilt - head off that is nice and clean, been skimmed in the not to distant past, so that's off to be pressure tested in the morning and hopefully fitted straight away.

| Well, the black Jap Cr*p thing lives again.
Just been out for a test run and all seems OK. Just need to load it up and hang a heavy trailer behind it for a proper test.

| Justy got me a nice new copy of Autoroute 2010 with GPS function - guess what's getting loaded onto the Netbook this weekend Last year we used the 2006 version ('cause that's what I already had) and it worked a treat, but did miss out on some detail here and there. | |

| Well, the list of jobs to do is now down to 20 items. Most of which will get done this weekend. Leaving next weekend to trial pack and then panic over what's been missed or won't fit in. | |

| Will, it had to have the last laugh didn't it.
Had to use it this week for work, just as well. On the way home from the Lakes late afternoon, a slight vibration started up, which gradually got worse over the next 30 or 40 miles.
Prop centre bearing - that'll teach me - was going to build up a prop with new bearing and u/js but just never got round to it !!!
Straight in the workshop - prop with a new centre bearing and one new u/j - fitted another (so that's 2 out 3 replaced) and chucked it on - out for a test drive - worse than the one I took off.
Now what .........................
Started ringing likely culprits in the L200 club to see if someone had a good prop lying around - nope.
Then remembered a newish member had an L200 parked up with a blown engine. Quick 'phone call and I'm on my way to Runcorn to rob his truck of it's prop.
Just got in.
Guess what I'm doing in the morning.
All in the name of fun. At least taking the truck to work showed up the problem before the start, if I hadn't, this would have happened somewhere between France and Holland.
