| ....does anyone have any plans? I have a suggestion and a couple of people who are interested in doing it with us, so I thought I'd invite anyone else along too We are staying around the Koblenz area (if you've asked for the campsite the same as Keith & Tim) around 60km's away from the longest and hardest racetrack in the world, the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Googlemaps. I've been visiting the area for the last 6 years and made quite a few mates there also, anyone who has an interest motorsports should visit here at least once in their life. The scenery is fantastic. Famed more recently by JC on Top Gear the Nordschleife is known for the ability to drive virually anything road legal on the circuit under normal german road law (it's classed as a de-restricted toll road). I have lapped before in a 300TDi Disco but it was in horrendous rain and I wouldn't normally suggest 4x4's going round for a lap. However, I have a couple of contacts in the office and if someone wanted to take a ride round (or convoy) then I would probably be able to arrange for a marshals car to follow round to give warning to people with a high closure speed. Wed 30th June the track is open for public driving between 1745 and 1930, when it's not open during the day then it's normally in use for a private trackday or industry testing (most vehicle prototypes are tested here). I can take you around local lanes to get to all the best viewing points too. Also in the area is the new Ringwerk complex, great for family entertainment with a large museum. As I said, We'll be going anyway (and probably staying over on the wed night) and more people are welcome to join us. | |

| excellent.
Realistically I would say around 16-17minutes. The longer the better to get value for money.
Harry, it's an awesome place. How many of your mates can say they've lapped the Nordschleife?

| yea my sis bf, they went round europe on his bike, when asking for directions to the ring in nurnburg they laughed and said about 300 miles that way!!!
ok were staying with them on the 29th and the 30th at that camp site, with the ferry on the 1st?!
im sure my team would be more than happy to come with, and then head back to the camp site, im just thinking now that i would love to get on film me driving the 90 round, then i can buy a sticker and actually say its been around the ring!!!

| Ade, they let virtually anyone on. So long as it's not towing and not leaking fluids. So long as you've got some common sense then you'll be fine. It is THIS easy to get on the circuit. | |

Look at this yin almost a clanger Idiots, they should have stopped straight away and run back down the track to warn others. Hence why I said that if people wanted to do a lap I'd try and arrange an escort. I wouldn't want to be doing 160+mph round a blind bend over a crest to be greeted by 5+ 4x4's doing 40mph
