| Plan for me is:
Thursday 15:30 leave Kent 18:30 arrive Dorset, meet up with co-driver, pat dog, dodge chickens, greet wife 18:31 Throw bag of washing at wife, receive pint of nice cool cider in return 18:32 Wipe cider from eyes and towel the damp patches off my shirt 18:33 Pour another pint 18:45 Stare at pile of stuff in dining room 18:50 Stare at pile of stuff in co-drivers car 19:00 Put down laptop after realising that googling for a larger dining room is not the answer. Pour another pint 19:30 Spread piles of stuff out into hall. Rationalise the exclusion of clothing and food and the excess of alcohol with the words "war's hell". Pour a pint and start looking longingly at the dog's biscuits 20:00 Order the fourth curry in 7 days, start kicking piles of stuff out of dining room, past the pile in the hall and on into lounge. Find dog under oztent 20:30 Wonder why I'm missing a chicken. Wife reports clucking noises from the Engel fridge. Glare accusingly at co-driver 21:00 - 23:59 Talk bobbins with co-driver. Drink cider
Friday 08:00 Ring mate and arrange for loan of Komatsu mini-digger to scoop piles of stuff into car 09:00 Pull it all out again after muffled barking heard in vicinity of glovebox 09:30 Reload car 09:45 Pull it all out again after remembering that last little bit of wiring that I needed to do 10:00 have fist-fight with co-driver after he connects electric fence energiser from the goose pen to the cable I'm running 14:30 leave casualty department 15:00 repack car 16:00 Shakedown drive. Co-driver climbs all over car tracking down squeaks, rattles, clucking and a strangely persistent wailing from the rear 16:05 shake hands with police officer and apologise for not realising it was his siren 16:30 - 19:30 Zip-tie and gaffer everything that rattles or squeaks 19:30 apologise to wife while removing gaffer tape from her hair and explain to co-driver that some squeaking is acceptable
More to follow....... | |

| Loving the virtual garden:-)
We're not packed either.Having last minute panic attacks.Just bought roof bars coz we've decided at last minute that we're not going to get everything in the car (we have roof box but no bars) got home only to find that the bars are not long enough and we now NEED that roof box! Off on a wild goose chase tomorrow for longer bars.
Trying to get the kids tea is a nightmare coz I've packed the cutlery, tin opener and kitchen scissors so I have to keep unpacking them. The only box I've packed and it's the one I should have packed last...

| I got all my clothing out earlier. Aaaannnnnd that's about it!!
Tim couldn't make it so all the bits we were going to do will be done tomorrow.
I have a million, billion, squillon things to do over the next 36hrs. Most of these M,B.S. things involve putting most of the rear end of the car together which, still looks like a builders locker!!

| We're all but ready - just need to load and go. Pretty much what we'd take on a normal camping trip, we have a system for checking, sorting and packing that's been well tried and tested over the last goodness knows how many years.
BUT - there will always be something that gets forgotten, the surprise is what that something is.
Almost at the stage - if it isn't packed, it's not going.
