| Quick question,
Are there any Hand Held CB's that are worth buying that have Euro and UK channels?
Have I looked yet on the net? - No
Am I being lazy asking on here? - Yes
Am I concerned? - Hell no!!!!!
Seriously,
Anyone got any pros and cons of CB use, vehicle mounted or otherwise?
Any advice will be gratefully received, and acted upon this week!

| Most hand helds I've tried don't have much range, unless you're going to spend a lot of money. Better to go for a decent car/truck "kit" from one of the many dealers on the 'tinternet. | |

| I was looking at a handheld unit (security issues of owning a defender). I can't remember if it was Nick or Richie that said the coverage on them was pretty much useless, even with an external antenna.
You can pick up a decent vehicle unit for next to nowt. One of the sponsors is a supplier. They pretty simple to install and if you've not done it by then I'm sure someone will turn up next week with a meter to check it.
Hope this helps a bit

| One of the sponsors does this kit. I'm sure one or two of us will have SWR meters to tune it in for you. How to SWR a CB - download here from my Google Docs. | |

| While skiing in February I heard a Frenchman get some cheap laughs from the queue by muttering "nous devons tous tomber comme les Anglais"
I overheard so responded with "peut etre vous prefere rendre, comme les francais?"
That got rather more laughs than his comment, although probably more to do with my accent and crap grammar.
Fromage-manger rendre singe!
and
wir den Krieg gewonnen. Wir sind hier, um dich zu erinnern
They're the phrases we need to be practising.

| This is the kit I have and although it needed SWR'ing (it would have blown something without!!) it is fine now. Alan NoDo$h set it up in the end. I have a SWR meter that you can use to set up on Sat. JJ | |
