Hello all!!!!

Just a bit of an update from us at Team 41 after this and fantastic offers of help from Keith/Tim and others on this thread we have managed to arrange a replacement vehicle on loan for the rally.

It might not suit the event perfectly but it means we'll be able to take part in most of the rally but we'll have to take a hit on points in some locations I think.

The vehicle we're borrowing is:

It does feel great to know we're not going to be relying on other people to get round.

The vehicle belongs to a good friend of mine, he offered it on Sunday night after he heard about the Defender. It has taken all week though to sort out some insurance for it as I might have been naughty previously.

All other options had been exhausted and was just about to call in at the local dealer when I received the news that this was a go'er.

It's a black 2009 3.0d twin turbo x-drive model. If it behaves anything like an X5 I've been in off-road then I don't have any worries about what it will be able to do on the rally Smile

Oh and yes it is a little bit more comfortable than the Defender.

Have to say(even though it's a BMW) thats brilliant news. However, how can you say that a BMW is more comfortable than a Defender! That's definately a points deduction penalty.
