HELP Please for my Co-Driver Empty
PostSubject: HELP Please for my Co-Driver   HELP Please for my Co-Driver EmptyMon Jun 07, 2010 6:28 am

Following on from this thread, Dave Race has agreed that he'll let me jump in with his team to take part in the rally.

Adam and myself have managed to break our £1k justgiving target and rather gutted to say the least that this has happened. Since the Defender was stolen I've only just managed to speak with Adam and let him know what's happened.

Would it be possible please for anyone or maybe multiple vehicles to carry Adam around the rally? He's well mannered, polite and house trained, he'll travel light too Smile Obviously fuel/beer contributions will be handed over.

Many thanks,

Chris Slator

Hiya Chris

If he's ok standard 2nd 110 seats then I have absolutely no probs with him jumping in with me & Tim.

Obviously we'll have a switch round and do shifts in the back (I wouldn't put anyone through that pain for 1700 miles)!! Laughing

Chris - Glad that at least you'll be with us but gutting the events of last night.

Tim & I take our hats off to the camaraderie of those taking part in the rally for the kind offers to Chris and Adam. That’s truly great to see.

Until my co-driver turns up and I know what he's bringing, I can't guarantee a seat but if the space is there and he wants a day of tedium sat in leather and air-conditioned comfort, count me in.

Now, it could well be that Adam will jump from vehicle to vehicle, and in order of fairness to each team, I think he should be bound, gagged and blindfolded in each vehicle, so that no secrets are given away Twisted Evil Cuss

Mind you if may enjoy that

I also may have a spare seat depending on the amount of kit we can't fit in the boot/roofrack

Hello all,

Thanks for all the kind offers, at this moment in time we haven't managed to source a replacement vehicle. I don't fancy spending £3-4k on a Land Rover to jump straight in and take part in the rally, I'd rather run one for a while first to have some confidence in it.

Since Sunday I have had a seat available with Dave Race in his Disco and the focus was then on to Adam. The offers above have been absolutely great. From the offers above I think we should be sorted for Adam all the way round even if it means putting him by the exit of the campsites with a hitch hikers board every morning.

I've been trying all week to 'borrow' a vehicle to take part in and have been speaking to parties concerned along the way, so far I've come up against a brick wall but will know a definite answer first thing in the morning. I will have an answer from one last effort on Monday but I think that's a slimmer chance than the one from tomorrow.

Once again thanks very much for the offers, if we don't get some wheels sorted out would it be best to plan something similar to a rota whereby the Adam carrying duties are shared? Maybe that way he could be carried on the days where we return to the same campsite again in a vehicle without a lot of room?

We now definately have a spare seat as my Butler is needed at home. Will we decide at the start where he is going?

Just to add to this thread with news from today. As seen in the other post in this forum, we're back in with a vehicle I've been generously loaned from a friend.

Once again, thanks for all the offers above, they've been outstanding. Knowing how helpful people have been so far it's making me look forward to it even more.

See you all in 8 days!
