Memory Map Europe Maps

Has anyone got any Memory Map compatible maps for the countries that we will be visiting.

Willing to donate to your page for copies

I've just downloaded the MM trial. It didn't have any maps with it so I've no idea what any of it looks like!

You'll only get France for MM I think.

Looking at the memory map site France is covered but everywhere else is using data from other sources.

Autoroute is good and some copies come with a GPS receiver

I have the full Western Europe maps on my TomTom.

I was just looking for something with a bit more detail being as the route is secret!!!!

For those using Garmin GPS units, Mapsource has good detail too.

I had seen those. Only problem with that is you are looking at £125 for all the ones I want.

Bit pricey for one off use.

have you had a look at this site for map info around route may help not gps but give good directions. good as a backup on paper, yep looks like all mapping is much cash

Maps are not a problem. I have TomTom with western Europe Maps and Autoroute 2010 on a Laptop.

Just thought that memory map might give more detail

MM is ok, but costs a packet for a small area. I live in France and use MM for local "green lane" exploration. Be like me and go to Sander in London and buy the IGN maps you think you will need for France. Can't speak for Belguim, Netherlands or Germany yet, reseaching that. Will up date all as soon as I have more info.

We use Autoroute - just as good for the navigation we'll be doing.
In fact, probably better than MemoryMap.

On Skibums recommendation, I've just started using ViewRanger on the iPhone/ipad.

It rules! Much better than Memory Map

No-one has mentioned a sextant; always useful, particularly with a lead plomb and 28 fathoms of line

Or find a car with all the Gizmo's..........................and follow them!!!!

how about a sand dial, the LRDG used them I believe circa 1940's

or was it the sun dial?????

Who needs maps, when the reccy vehicles tracking devices can provide all the info required

Nick - Thought I'd mention that we'd outsourced the recce to some volunteers; job all done. The arrangements were made via a third party contact to avoid any monitoring/malpractice by any rally entrant.
