| I put this here on its own although it covers the Arnhem thread, it also covers the Powell Arms Charity weekend. I bought some of the Sky Lanterns to try them and see what they are all about before Arnhem. They are a little tricky to hold and light and definately need two persons to do it. The ones I bought are brilliant and about 3' high and when extended about 2' across. Although made of rice paper are quite study and coated in something to slow the burn rate of the lantern. Once assembled it fills with heat fairly quickly and it is clear when you need to let go. I tried one and although wet and windy tonight, took off and got caught by the wind and went up and across at a good speed. I bought them from here. http://tiny.cc/72XXnTomorrow evening during the Charity Weekend I am planning on setting off 5 from outside the Powell Arms to mark the sad loss of the five soldiers the other day. | I set a sky lantern off for my nephews 3rd birthday! It gives you a good idea of the size of them. | |
