Hmmm ......... I know. In reality, I've only got 10 days now due to working away from home during the week

1st packing dry run to take place next weekend, plus removal of the odd seat, then we can see what we have forgotton plus what is still needed. At least the roof rack cargo netting has arrived

Still to decide if I am carrying spare fuel cans or not. Damn 90's fuel tank isn't that big, and this Ford Puma engine seems a tad thirsty compared to the old TD5

We didnt bother with fuel cans last year,

there were plenty of places to fill up enroute!
we tried to top up at the end of every day so we had a full tank to start on each morning.

I dont recall the series team carrying cans either and i know they get very few miles to the tank!

Richie, after what I've just seen, you might want to rephrase that.

I hate motorway prices, and I will need another tank of go-go juice before I get to Dreux and the cheaper supermarket stuff. And yes, I avoid Paris like the plague. 4 hours to get around it last time I tried in 30+ degrees, water going but no pits to stop in, not good news for this old man

Hi Dan, ref to the jerry can problem, we did carry one and it proved very usefull especially on one occassion. We really had it as back up. I would suggest you take one with you and fill it it. Just use it if required.

Rushes out and fastens the cans on the roof. Damn TDCi is only giving me 300 miles to the tank. Now wishes I had bought a refurb 300 TDi. Would have been cheaper of eco tax as well
