Nick, you inspired us to do a practice pack, thankfully I can say we were ready (car anyway) and able to do so, really looking forward to this year instead of worrying whether the car was going to be ready in time like last year

wish i had done a practice pack last year ,, wouldn't have taken them blincking palm plants that Tim hinted we should take

Same here, we are taking boxes no blooming clothes bags this year! I have packed food already! hahaha except for meat obvs and beer!

hahaha no Neil, my food mostly, I have to have an epi-pen now as have developed allergies to most food groups and live off rice cakes, salad (although not in Europe) seeds and porridge (nightmare)

Nothing wrong with Ratpacks. Got about 20 days worth of single packs.
Do for emergency meals if we don't get anything along the way. The kids love them too.

well the tent is nearly sorted , after looking at popup's that looked good to put up then a nightmare even in the shop to pack , i then looked at wigwams ,,, any way I'm now looking through the 15 tents in the loft, 1 is out in the garden and its raining ,,, the right sort of rain i hope ,,a bit smelly but if i air it out for 2 weeks then fa** for another 8 days its should be good for when Michelle meets me in Munich

You won't go far wrong with Kyham quick erect tents.
We have the Wayfarer GT - takes 5 mins to put up, 10 if there's a beer involved.
Been using them for years on rallies, expeditions, Scouts etc... etc... one I have is a bit like the current Biker - had it for about 6 years now and it's still going strong, despite the abuse and bad weather it's been subjected to.

Look good Nick , i wanted a all signing dancing thing then realised i've bought a tent every year for the past...... so it about time i camped in one of the ones in the loft.

3 days camping are more thsn enough for Michelle , in fact she probably book in a hotel to break it up, she's from Sussex not Yorkshire

ha ha fair do's it's not for everyone, I have found packing this year much easier...... a) don't even thinkg about packing make-up for hair products 2) don't even consider a 'going to dinner' outfit c) just be prepared to look tired and bedraggled for a fortnight and crack on with it .. lol

Well, just spent the last couple of hours sorting 20 24hr Ratpacks into boxes of each type of supply. Surprising how small you can make it all pack.

Yes they can be compacted more - I am going space saving bonkers this year! Miniature toiletries purchased today...... will probably run out before the end of the rally ha ha
