When I was a Lad............

..........my Mum would send me to the corner shop with a ten bob note.

I would come back with three bags of potatoes, two loaves of bread, a hunk of cheese a box of tea and six eggs.

You can't do that nowadays.

We did used to have a mobile grocer come round in an old Bedford coach
